Wrap-Up | What I Read in February 2022

Hello friends!

How are you doing? I hope well! Today I’m bringing you all the books I read in February. Was it a good month? I would say yes, but not a perfect one. And the reason why I say this is because (once again) I failed to read all the books from my TBR. But on a positive note, I still read a good amount of books.

To be honest, I think using monthly TBR lists is not working for me at the moment. So for now, I’ll have the freedom to grab whatever I want, whenever I want. I’ll probably get back to this system in the future, but in case you’re waiting for my March TBR post… I don’t think that will happen in the near future. Let’s take it a month at a time, and I’ll see how I feel this month without a reading guide.

Ok, now let’s get started! Here are the books I planned on reading in February:

  1. The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley ✅
  2. House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig ✅
  3. Sapphique (Incarceron #2) by Catherine Fisher ✅
  4. Disclaimer / Pura Coincidência by Rennée Knight ✔️
  5. Heir of Blood and Secrets by Linda Xia ✅

So from all the books I planned on reading this month, I read 1 of 5 – I wish I read more from my original TBR, but it’s okay. So here’s what I actually read in the month of February, planned and unplanned:

  1. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kyosakiu: 5/5⭐
  2. Disclaimer by Renée Knight: 4/5⭐
  3. Atomic Habits by James Clear: 5/5⭐
  4. Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy: 3/5⭐
  5. Multiplique o Seu Dinheiro by Ariana Nunes: 5/5⭐
  6. White Bodies by Jane Robins: 3.25/5⭐
  7. How To Be Better At Almost Everything by Pat Flynn: 2.5/5⭐

Overall, I was happy with all the books I read! I think the main reason why I didn’t pick the other books from my TBR list is because I’m currently in a big non-fiction mood (as you can see by the books I read). I think I needed a little break from fiction. The question is: is that break over? We’ll see what happens in March without a TBR List! Fingers crossed 🙂

Let me know how your reading month was 🙂 Thank you for reading, I’ll see you guys later!

Wrap-Up | What I Read in January 2022

Hello friends!

How was your month of January? I hope the beginning of the year has been good to you. You know what time it is? It’s time for the January Wrap up! This month I read 4 books, two from my TBR list and two more spontaneously.

Let’s start from the beginning! Here are the books I planned on reading in January:

  1. Lock & Key by Sarah Dessen
  2. Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker and Wendy Xu
  3. Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful Disaster #1) by Jamie McGuire
  4. Night Over Water by Ken Follett
  5. Liar Liar (Helen Grace #4) by M.J. Arlidge

So from all the books I planned on reading this month, I read 2 of 5, which was okay! So here’s what I actually read in the month of January, planned and unplanned:

  1. Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker & Wendy Xu: 2/5⭐
  2. All the Tides of Fate (All the Stars and Teeth #2) by Adalyn Grace: 3/5⭐
  3. Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful Disaster #1) by Jamie McGuire: 4.5/5⭐
  4. The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson: 4/5⭐

I haven’t read a lot lately. The reason why is a mix between feeling tired, having a lot of work (my actual full time job) and watching more Netflix. I hope I’ll get out of this reading slump soon… wish me luck!

Let me know how your reading month was 🙂 Thank you for reading, I’ll see you guys later!

Wrap-Up | What I Read in December 2021

Well helloooo there hot stuff!

I hope you’re having an amazing start of the year! Today I’m bringing you all the books I read in December. So… this didn’t go as planned *nervous laughter*. And the problem wasn’t the number of books I read, but how I didn’t read what I planned to (again).

I started two of the books, but I wasn’t feeling them, so I ended up switching my planned reads for other books. But one thing at the time, here are the books I planned on reading in December.

  1. I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
  2. All the Tides of Fate (All the Stars and Teeth #2) by Adalyn Grace
  3. Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland
  4. Before the Coffee Gets Cold (Before the Coffee Gets Cold #1) by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
  5. L’Anomalie by Hervé Le Tellier
  6. Heartstopper: Volume 1 (Heartstopper #1) by Alice Oseman: 5/5⭐

So from all the books I planned on reading this month, I read 1 of 6, which was terrible! I’m truly embarrassed with myself, because it seems like I can’t get keep up with my goals. I’m going to make an effort and I’ll do my best for the following months. Now here’s what I actually read.

  1. Heartstopper: Volume 1 (Heartstopper #1) by Alice Oseman: 5/5⭐
  2. Heartstopper: Volume 2 (Heartstopper #2) by Alice Oseman: 5/5⭐
  3. Heartstopper: Volume 3 (Heartstopper #3) by Alice Oseman: 5/5⭐
  4. Heartstopper: Volume 4 (Heartstopper #4) by Alice Oseman: 5/5⭐
  5. You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero: 4.5/5⭐
  6. Badass Habits by Jen Sincero: 4.5/5⭐
  7. How to Stop Time by Matt Haig: 3.25/5⭐
  8. Little Lies by H. Hunting: 3.5/5⭐
  9. The House With Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson: 4.75/5⭐

As you can see, I still read a good amount of unplanned books! I’m so happy I finally started the Heartstopper series, because I completely fell in love with it! I hope I’ll get my hands on the last volume As you can see, I still read a good amount of unplanned books! I’m so happy I finally started the Heartstopper series, because I completely fell in love with it! I hope I’ll get my hands on the last volume when it comes out 🙂 I also read and reread two Jen Sincero books, a Matt Haig’s book and two lighter books (Little Lies and The House With Chicken Legs). As you can see, my lowest ratings were 3.25 and 3.5, and all the other books were higher – including four 5 star reads – so overall it was a very positive month!

I’m a bit sad I didn’t get to read my planned books, but I’m definitely working on creating more balanced monthly TBR lists. I have a good feeling for January, because I’m going to make an effort to achieve my goals!

Let me know how your reading month was 🙂 Thank you for reading, I’ll see you guys later!

Wrap-Up | What I Read in September, October and November 2021

Hello everyone!

It’s time for another Wrap Up, and this time I’m condensing the Wrap Ups from September, October and November all in a single post. I didn’t have a lot of time to write these in the past, so I decided to do them all here! So let’s start from the beginning: the month of September.

When it comes to the books I planned to read in September, I failed big time. I planned on reading 5 books and I didn’t read a single one of them – that was a new record for me! I started 3 of them but I wasn’t feeling them, so I ended up reading other books. Here are the books I wanted to read in September:

I’m honestly not that bothered because I always try to not judge myself if I don’t read the books I want. Plus, I ended up reading 7 other books instead! Here they are:

  1. Hungry Hearts: 13 Tales of Food edited by Elsie Chapman and Caroline Tung Richmond: 2/5⭐
  2. The Doll’s House (Helen Grace #3) by M.J. Arlidge: 3.75/5⭐
  3. The Meaning of Mariah Carey by Mariah Carey: 3.5/5⭐
  4. A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena: 4.5/5⭐
  5. I Am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll: 3.75/5⭐
  6. Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas: 4.25/5⭐
  7. The Butterfly Bruises by Palmer Smith: 4/5⭐

I’m more than okay with reading 7 books per month, even if they weren’t the ones I originally planned on reading! “Hungry Hearts” was the only book I didn’t love, so it was a good month! But this is where the reading slump started…

In October I didn’t make any reading plans because I was starting to get very busy and I found myself in a massive reading slump. I had no desire to pick any of the books that were on my general TBR, so I decided to pick my all time favorite series to help me get out of the reading slump: The Selection series. So here’s what I read in October:

  1. The Selection (The Selection #1) by Kiera Cass: 5/5⭐
  2. The Elite (The Selection #2) by Kiera Cass: 5/5⭐
  3. The One (The Selection #3) by Kiera Cass: 5/5⭐
  4. The Red Button by Keith Eldred: 4/5⭐
  5. The Unexpected Duchess (Playful Brides #1) by Valerie Bowman: 3/5⭐

“The Selection” series helped me a lot with my reading slump and I loved rereading the original trilogy! Also, I had to read “The Red Button” in October because the author asked me, so that is what I did. And I also started a new historical romance series named “The Playful Brides” series by Valerie Bowman. This was my first ever historical romance, and even though I didn’t love it, I still wanted to continue the series… and that’s what I did in November.

I went through the month of November without a TBR list as well, and things went great! My reading slump hit the road and I read a lot of amazing books. Here’s what I read:

  1. The Dinner Guest by B.P. Walter: 3.75/5⭐
  2. Incarceron (Incarceron #1) by Catherine Fisher: 3.75/5⭐
  3. If Cats Disappeared From the World by Genki Kawamura: 4.5/5⭐
  4. The Accidental Countess (Playful Brides #2) by Valerie Bowman: 3/5⭐
  5. The Unlikely Lady (Playful Brides #3) by Valerie Bowman: 4.5/5⭐
  6. The Irresistible Rogue (Playful Brides #4) by Valerie Bowman: 3.25/5⭐
  7. The Unforgettable Hero (Playful Brides #4.5) by Valerie Bowman: 3.25/5⭐
  8. Words on Bathroom Walls by Julia Walton: 4/5⭐
  9. All the Stars and Teeth (All the Stars and Teeth #1) by Adalyn Grace: 3/5⭐
  10. Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards: 2/5⭐
  11. The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward: 5/5⭐

I read A LOT in November! I continued “The Playful Brides” series and since I was in a darker mood, I read some thrillers too. “The Last House on Needless Street” surprised me a lot and if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it! It’s important to say that it’s the kind of book people either love or hate, but you should give it a go. It was a very successful reading month and I’m very happy with all the books I read.

Let me know how your reading month (or trimestre) was! Thank you for reading, I’ll see you guys later 🙂

Wrap-Up | What I Read in August 2021

Well helloooo there hot stuff! I hope you’re doing well and I hope you’re currently on a cruise in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean sipping martinis… and if you’re not that’s fine too! I’m dreaming of the vacation days I’ll be taking in September ahah – can you tell?

Anyways, let’s get back on track. Today I’m bringing you all the books I read in the month of August. Even though my TBR list was pretty short – a grand total of 5 books – I didn’t feel like picking up two of them… I just wasn’t feeling it! This is my third attempt to read The Authenticity Project, and I still couldn’t do it. I feel like this is not the right time to pick it up, so I’m moving on to other books without judgement.

With that said, I read a lot of unplanned books! In total I read 7 books this month that I wasn’t planning on reading in the first place. Some of them were disappointing, but I found some amazing books too. But one thing at a time: let’s start with the books I planned on reading in August! Here are the original books from my TBR:

  1. One To Watch by Kate Stayman-London: 5/5⭐
  2. Pop Goes the Weasel (Helen Grace #2) by M.J. Arlidge: 4.5/5⭐
  3. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover: 5/5⭐

So from all the books I planned on reading this month, I read 3 of 5, which I think was okay. I’m not too bothered because two of the books I rated 5 stars and the other one was a high 4. I can’t complain about that!

Now regarding the books I read that weren’t planned, I read:

  1. Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick: 4.25/5⭐
  2. Outwitting the Devil: The Secret to Freedom and Success by Napoleon Hill: 4.5/5⭐
  3. Uncharted (Uncharted #1) by Julie Johnson: 4/5⭐
  4. Normal People by Sally Rooney: 2/5⭐
  5. Making a Play (The Field Party #5) by Abbi Glines: 3.5/5⭐
  6. Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson: 3.5/5⭐
  7. Good Girl, Bad Blood (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #2) by Holly Jackson: 5/5⭐

As you can see, I read a good amount of unplanned books! I’m so happy I finally had the courage to start the Hush, Hush series, because I’m loving it! I only read the first book, but the second book, Crescendo, is on my September TBR. The two most disappointing reads were definitely Eight Perfect Murders and Normal People. The first one because it spoiled a lot of books I wanted to read and the second one because I didn’t love the story. The book that shined this m

The first one because it spoiled a lot of books I wanted to read and the second one because I didn’t love the story. The book that shined this month was definitely Good Girl, Bad Blood which is the sequel for A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder! I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how incredible this series is, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! So overall I’m very happy with how much reading I did this month! It was a great reading month full of many good and bad surprises.

Let me know how your reading month was! Thank you for reading, I’ll see you guys later 🙂

Today I’m bringing you all the books I read in July. I missed three books from my planned TBR for July, but I honestly wasn’t feeling them the time I started them. So I put them on the side and I ended up reading five unplanned books! In total I ended up reading eleven books, which was pretty good! So let’s get into the books and their ratings.

Here is my original TBR list for July (with eight books) and the books I read:

Today I’m bringing all the books I read in May. Here are the original books from my TBR for this month:

  1. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden: 6/5⭐
  2. The Host by Stephenie Meyer: 4/5⭐
  3. A Court of Frost and Starlight (#3.5 ACOTAR) by Sarah J. Maas: 3.25/5⭐

6. The Night Swim by Megan Goldin: 4.5/5⭐
7. The Good Girls by Claire Eliza Bartlett: 4.25/5⭐
8. Sunkissed by Kasie West: 4/5⭐

So from all the books I planned on reading this month, I read 8/8, which is pretty good! I finally finished A Court of Wings and Ruins, but I’ll only start the next book in the series after June probably – I need a break from this series! The Host was also a huge book, but I’m very proud of myself that I finally read it and that I completed my monthly challenge!

Now regarding the books I read that weren’t planned, I read:

  1. A Court of Wings and Ruin (#3 ACOTAR) by Sarah J. Maas: 4/5⭐

I didn’t read a lot of unplanned books, but like I said, I finished A Court of Wings and Ruin – FINALLY. I started it before May, but since I wanted to read the next book this month, I had to finish this one. Well, I just didn’t have the time to read more books, but I’m happy I read all the books from my May TBR list!

Let me know how your reading month was! Thank you for reading, I’ll see you guys later 🙂

Wrap-Up | What I Read in April 2021

Hi guys! I hope you’re doing well 🙂

I have never done wrap up posts before, but I think it makes sense to do them since I already share with you what I’m planning to read each month. So today I’m bringing exactly that: all the books I read this past month!

My reading habits are not linear and most of the times I end up reading random books I wasn’t planning to read – that’s what you do when you’re a mood reader – so I’ll be sharing all my planned and unplanned reads!

So let’s start with the books I was planning to read in April! Here are the books from my April TBR:

As you can see, I read:

  1. A Cloud Can Weigh a Million Pounds by A.D. Stephenson: 3⭐
  2. Eeny Meeny (Helen Grace #1) by M.J. Arlidge: 4.25⭐
  3. Horrid by Katrina Leno: 3.75⭐
  4. The Midnight Library by Matt Haig: 5⭐
  5. Namesake (Fable #2) by Adrienne Young: 4⭐

So from all the books I planned on reading this month, I read 5 of 6, which I think was really good! I haven’t finished A Court of Wings and Ruins by Sarah J. Maas yet, just because I’m not in the mood to finish it right now. I’m hoping I’ll finish it in May, as well as the next book in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight, as you can see in my May TBR.

Now regarding the books I read that weren’t planned, I read:

  1. Kill Joy (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #0.5) by Holly Jackson: 5⭐
  2. The Stolen Kingdom by Jillian Boehme: 4⭐ *
  3. We Are the Wildcats by Siobhan Vivian: 2.75⭐ *
  4. Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel: 4.25⭐
  5. Under the Lights (The Field Party #2) by Abbi Glines: 4⭐
  6. A Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern: 2⭐ *
  7. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune: 5⭐ *
  8. After the Party (The Field Party #3) by Abbi Glines: 4⭐

* I didn’t start these in April, but I finished them this month!

Yes I read A LOT of unplanned books, but I also finished a lot of them. I finally finished The Starless Sea (which was driving me crazy because it felt like it would never end) and other three books I started before April (marked with a *).

So overall I’m very happy with how much reading I did this month! It was a great reading month.

Let me know how your reading month was! Thank you for reading, I’ll see you guys later 🙂
