“One thing I learned a long time ago is that even if you think you’re meant to be with someone, that doesn’t necessarily mean you get to be with them.” – 3.5/5 stars!

ONE OF THE BOYS
What girl doesn’t want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn’t just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that’s just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.
But everything she’s ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he’s also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan’s feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart’s on the line?

This was cute.
I was in the mood to read a really soft and easy YA romance, and this did the trick! But maybe I had high expectations, given that so many people love this book – but in the end, it was just okay for me.
I’m a huge fan of sports romances (especially YA and NA), so I really thought I would love this one. Also, the main character is a bit of a tomboy, so extra points for that! I liked the main plot of the book, but I think the execution wasn’t the best. The romance with Ty annoyed me a little, so that’s also part of the reason why I didn’t like this as much as I thought I would.
Again, it was okay. It was still entertaining, but I’ve read better books with similar plots. For example, Kasie West has a book named “On the Fence” that is similar in nature (that one with soccer), and that book was a 5-star romance for me. With that said, I’m pretty sure my younger self would’ve eaten this up, though!
